Chester “Chet” Stearns, 79, of Vincennes, passed away at Noon on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
He was born April 22, 1943, in Knox County, Indiana to Irwin and Opal (Lynch) Stearns.
Chet worked in construction working out of the carpenters Local 224. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church and served his country in the Air Force.
Chet enjoyed hunting, particularly mushroom hunting, hunting rabbits, and fishing. He was a loyal worker at the church and loved tending his flowers around his house.
Surviving are his children Chester “Chet” Stearns Jr. and his wife Leisa of Vincennes and Angela Sizemore of Oaktown; his sisters Mickey Strader and Sharon Anthis both of Vincennes; along with seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Rose Mary (Sheren) Stearns, a daughter Anna Marie Madison; brothers Roscoe “Rock” Stearns and Richard “Dick” Stearns; sisters Mary Audrey Waters and Patricia Anthis.
Funeral services will be held at Noon CST Monday, October 24, 2022, at Calvary Apostolic Church with Rev. Jason Donaldson will officiate.– Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
