Bright Beginnings, Rainy Finish: Wednesday Forecast | Nov. 13, 2024
INDIANAPOLIS — We are starting off dry this morning, but rain will make its way into the forecast later this afternoon. Expect moderate to heavy rainfall during the evening commute.
TODAY: It's a chilly start with temperatures in the 30s and plenty of sunshine. However, clouds will begin to roll in as we approach lunchtime, and rain is expected to arrive by late afternoon. While some areas may experience heavy rain, severe weather or thunderstorms are not anticipated. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 50s, with southern Indiana seeing lower 60s.
TONIGHT: Rain will continue through the evening and could become heavy at times. Overnight lows will only drop into the upper 40s. Some locations may receive up to an inch of rainfall, while areas south of Indianapolis could see between 1 to 2 inches.
THURSDAY: Expect mostly cloudy skies on Thursday with a chance of scattered morning showers. Pockets of drizzle and light rain are likely during the first part of the day, with high temperatures reaching the mid-50s.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Friday looks partly cloudy with dry conditions as temperatures climb into the upper 50s—ideal for high school football games that evening. The weekend appears promising as well, with dry conditions and some sunshine on both Saturday and Sunday; expect highs in the mid-50s on Saturday and lower 60s on Sunday.
Rain chances return on Monday and Tuesday as temperatures settle back into the 50s. There are indications in next week's extended forecast that we may experience a significant drop in temperatures just before Thanksgiving.
