One Fatality, Multiple Injuries in Shooting Incident at Tuskegee University
Homecoming Week at Tuskegee University in Alabama was tragically overshadowed by a shooting incident early Sunday morning, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries, according to university officials.
The deceased individual was not a student at the university; however, several of those injured were students. "The parents of this individual have been notified. Several others, including Tuskegee University students, are receiving treatment at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery," the statement revealed.
This incident occurred on campus as Tuskegee University's historic 100th Homecoming Week was coming to a close. "The university is in the process of completing student accountability and notifying parents," officials stated.
The investigation into the shooting is being conducted by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation. A representative from the office of Tuskegee’s police chief indicated that no further information is currently available.
