Circle Centre Mall's Redevelopment Unveiled
Circle Centre Mall has unveiled its $600 million redevelopment plans to transform the mall into a mixed-use, open-air center for shopping, entertainment, and living. The project will introduce 400,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, and entertainment space, along with 100,000 square feet of office space and 300 residential units.
According to Hendricks Commercial Properties, the redevelopment will also include 100,000 square feet of outdoor public space, transforming the existing enclosed mall into an open, pedestrian-friendly environment. The project's first phase is expected to be completed by 2030.
The redevelopment will start with the south block of Circle Centre Mall, which will close for construction on April 1. The Omni Severin Hotel skywalk will also be closed, and all stores in this section of the mall have been vacated.
CEO Rob Gerbitz said their goal is to bring energy to the heart of Indianapolis. "We're transforming a traditional enclosed mall into an open, pedestrian-friendly destination that fosters connection, activity, and a vibrant urban culture. As we navigate this redevelopment, we appreciate the community's patience and support. This project is about shaping the future of downtown and creating new opportunities for residents, businesses, and visitors alike," Gerbitz said.
