GM Boosts Output at Fort Wayne Truck Plant
General Motors has announced that it will increase production at its truck plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The news comes a day after President Donald Trump revealed 25% tariffs on auto imports.
"We're going to make America great again, and we're going to start by making our trucks great again." - General Motors
The Fort Wayne plant is responsible for producing the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 light-duty pickup trucks. In addition to its Indiana facility, GM also manufactures these models in Mexico.
Employees at the plant were informed of the production boost through a webcast, which also revealed that the company may be adding overtime days to its schedule.
