McDonald's Set for Major Menu Revamp After Years
McDonald's has announced a major menu overhaul, marking one of the most significant changes in years. The fast-food giant is shifting its focus toward value meals and enticing in-app deals.
The $5 value meals, which were introduced over the summer, will now be a permanent offering at most locations. This meal deal features small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets, a small soft drink, and a choice between a McDouble or McChicken sandwich. Competitors like Burger King and Wendy's have also launched similar promotions.
In addition to lunch options, McDonald's is expanding its breakfast menu with an exciting buy-one-get-one offer for just $1 on selected items such as the sausage McMuffin, sausage biscuit, sausage burrito, and hash browns.
The buy-one-get-one offer will also apply to lunch and dinner items including six-piece chicken McNuggets, double cheeseburgers, McChickens, and small fries.
"When it comes to value, we know there's no one-size-fits-all. We've worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms," said Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA. "From deals on their personal go-to order to universal favorites like the $5 Meal Deal, we're excited to give fans more ways to save every time they visit one of our restaurants."
This revamped menu will take effect on January 7.
Additionally, local restaurants are set to provide exclusive deals through the McDonald's mobile app.
Following the launch of its $5 meal deal on June 25, McDonald’s experienced a significant increase in foot traffic according to data from Placer.ai. As inflation continues to affect consumer choices, many restaurants have acknowledged that rising prices may have deterred some customers.
Despite increasing labor costs prompting price hikes in recent years, food costs are beginning to stabilize; this has led many establishments to reconsider their pricing strategies.
