Honoring Canine Heroes: Paws of Service

Each week, Pet Pals TV shares stories about our furry friends, and this time is no exception. Host Patty Spitler takes a moment to remember the canines who have served in the line of duty.

When service dogs retire from the military or police force, they still need a loving home and family. Unfortunately, not all dogs that serve are as fortunate. Some don't get to retire at all. To help these heroes transition into civilian life, a non-profit organization was created to care for retired police dogs in the U.S.

Few programs provide support for retired service dogs as they make this transition. To learn more about Project K9-Hero and its mission to help these canine heroes, watch the video above!
