3rd Indy Classic Begins at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indy Classic is set to tip off this Saturday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, featuring four exciting teams in two thrilling games.
The action begins at 12 p.m. as Purdue faces Texas A&M, followed by Butler going head-to-head with Wisconsin at 2:30 p.m.
“It’s going to be a great day of college basketball here at Gainbridge,” said Dan Gliot, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at the Indiana Sports Corp.
Last year, the Indy Classic captivated a sellout crowd of 17,135 fans. In an electrifying matchup, third-ranked Purdue triumphed over top-ranked Arizona with a score of 92-84, while 2024 NIT runner-up Indiana State secured a hard-fought victory against Ball State, finishing 83-72.
This year's event features three out of four teams ranked in the top 20.
“This is going to be a raucous crowd; it’s going to be a lot of fun. One ticket gets you into both games,” added Gliot.
Before the games begin, fans can enjoy a free activation zone at Bicentennial Unity Plaza.
“We’re going to have music, figure skating, activations, face painting, and giveaway items as well,” noted Gliot.
