Free Parvo Vaccinations at Vet Tech Institute of Indiana's 'Pet Pals TV'
The Vet Tech Institute of Indiana will be hosting 'Pet Pals TV' on May 10, offering free Parvo vaccinations from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event aims to help prevent the spread of this deadly disease among dogs.
Parvo is a highly contagious and deadly virus that attacks the heart muscle and gastrointestinal tract of dogs. According to Lucky Dog Rescue, they have treated 48 Parvo-positive dogs since their founding in 2009, with ten not surviving. This highlights the importance of vaccination.
“Parvo is very nasty and the vaccinations certainly help,” Mattie Thacker, from Lucky Dog Rescue, said.
The event will also offer free microchipping for pets, which is now required in Marion County due to a new ordinance aimed at reducing stray and lost animals. There is no limit on the number of animals you can bring, and attendees are encouraged to bring a positive attitude and excitement to get their pets vaccinated.
