INDIANAPOLIS — Today, we can expect above-normal temperatures accompanied by plenty of clouds and the possibility of a few scattered showers. The day will remain both breezy and warm, continuing into Election Day.
TODAY: This morning starts mild with temperatures in the 60s, with some showers likely throughout the morning and into the afternoon. Heavier rain is forecasted primarily for northern Indiana. Highs will reach into the low 70s, with gusty winds expected this afternoon at speeds of 25 to 30 mph. For reference, the typical high for this time of year is around 57 degrees.
TONIGHT: Expect mostly cloudy skies tonight, along with continued breezy conditions as winds gust up to 30 mph. Overnight temperatures will remain mild, settling near the lower 60s.
TUESDAY/ELECTION DAY: Tuesday will bring more cloudy skies. Rain chances increase later in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will again climb into the low to mid-70s across Indiana, with wind gusts potentially reaching as high as 40 mph during the afternoon. The most significant rain is anticipated after 4:00 p.m.
7-DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Rainfall will taper off late Tuesday night, leading to partly cloudy skies on Wednesday with highs in the lower 60s. Thursday and Friday are expected to be sunny, with temperatures remaining in the lower 60s—still above normal for this time of year.
Rainfall amounts could range from half an inch to an inch in some areas.
This weekend may bring scattered showers with highs reaching into the low and mid-60s.
