Eastbound I-465 Closed Near I-69 Following Semi Truck Accident

INDIANAPOLIS — All lanes of eastbound I-465 are currently closed near I-69 on the northeast side of Indianapolis due to an accident involving three passenger vehicles and a jackknifed semitruck.

The closure began at 6:45 a.m., halting traffic between I-69 and 71st Street. Eastbound motorists are being redirected onto I-69.

While the express lane on northbound I-465 is closed, other lanes remain open, albeit moving slowly.

According to Indiana State Police, cleanup efforts will take several hours, leading to significant delays. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Shortly after the incident occurred, cameras captured multiple vehicles obstructing the roadway with a jackknifed semitruck resting against a concrete barrier at mile marker 37.

Fortunately, dispatchers report that no injuries have been sustained in this accident.
