Passenger Dies in Two-Car Crash on Indianapolis' Northwest Side

INDIANAPOLIS — A tragic car accident on the northwest side of Indianapolis claimed the life of a passenger on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of West 51st Street and Grandview Drive around 12:35 p.m. to respond to an accident involving injuries. This area is situated in a mix of business and residential zones along Michigan Road, just north of Newfields.

Upon arrival, police discovered that one vehicle was traveling north on Michigan Road when it attempted to turn west and was subsequently struck by another vehicle heading southbound.

The passenger in one of the vehicles sadly died at the scene. Meanwhile, both drivers and a child passenger were transported to nearby hospitals and are reported to be in stable condition.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
