Rain Moves Out Today, Mild Temperatures Persist Through the Weekend | Nov. 14, 2024
INDIANAPOLIS — Mild temperatures will persist, running 5-10° above average, as we look ahead to early next week.
This morning:
Central Indiana is experiencing scattered light showers under mostly cloudy skies. An area of low pressure moving in from central Illinois is the cause of this weather.
Thursday:
We can expect a cloudy morning with intermittent light showers. However, rain chances will gradually decrease by early to mid-afternoon. Throughout the day, clouds will dominate the sky, and high temperatures are expected to reach the mid-50s.
Thursday night:
A thick layer of clouds will linger into the evening and overnight hours, helping to keep temperatures steady. Lows are projected to drop to the mid-40s.
Friday:
The low cloud cover will continue through Friday, maintaining mostly cloudy conditions. Despite this overcast weather, temperatures will remain 3 to 6° above average for this time of year, peaking in the upper 50s across central Indiana.
This weekend:
A warming trend is on the horizon for the weekend. Expect some dense fog on Saturday morning; however, both days promise pleasant and bright conditions with highs nearing 60°.
Extended forecast:
The mild weather is set to continue into the start of next week. Monday appears dry with highs reaching lower 60s. However, precipitation chances are likely to increase again by Tuesday and Wednesday. A significant cold front is anticipated to move through late in the week, potentially bringing much colder temperatures and light snow showers by late next week.
