Bryson Cardinal Commits to Butler

Guerin Catholic star Bryson Cardinal has committed to Butler. The announcement was made on Thursday.

In a social media post, Cardinal thanked Guerin Catholic for its support.

During his time at Guerin Catholic, Cardinal scored over 1,000 points and helped lead the team to several notable achievements. In the 2024-25 season, he contributed to a 23-5 record and a sectional championship. The following year, he played a key role in reaching the semi-state championship game, where they ultimately lost to Scottsburg. Prior to that, he helped Guerin Catholic reach the state championship game in the 2022-23 season, ultimately falling short against NorthWood.

Cardinal joins fellow Indianapolis-area player Azavier Robinson as Class of 2025 commits to Butler.

Notably, Cardinal is the son of former Purdue star Brian Cardinal. The latter averaged 12.0 points per game during his four-year college career and was drafted in the second round (No. 44 pick). He went on to play 12 seasons in the NBA for several teams, including the Grizzlies, Mavericks, Timberwolves, Pistons, Warriors, and Wizards.
