Bucks Sign Myles Turner to 4-Year Deal
The Milwaukee Bucks have signed former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal, marking a significant departure from the Pacers after 10 seasons. The news was initially reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.
The contract includes a fourth year player option for the 2028-29 season and a 15% trade kicker. To make room in their salary cap to accommodate Turner's deal, the Bucks are waiving guard Damian Lillard, who is still rehabbing a torn Achilles tendon after spending two seasons with the team.
Turner joins an already potent front court alongside two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Pacers and Turner had reportedly expressed mutual interest in continuing their partnership, with head coach Rick Carlisle stating on Monday that re-signing Turner was the "number 1 priority."
Turner has spent his entire 10-year career with the Pacers after being drafted by them in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft. He became a key piece to the team's offense and defense, averaging 15.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season.
"I think he's been a very important player for us," Carlisle said. "He's got all the skills you need to be an All-Star caliber player."
