Colts Fans Receive Direct Message from Shane Steichen

The Indianapolis Colts finished their season with an 8-9 record, missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year, the longest drought in franchise history.

Head coach Shane Steichen believes the team is close to success and wants to put a winning product on the field that fans can be proud of. He emphasized that there's no failure in sports, only frustration and disappointment.

"I do believe we're close, and if I didn't believe that, there's something wrong."

Steichen also expressed his gratitude to owner Jim Irsay for supporting him and general manager Chris Ballard for next season. He acknowledged the need for improvement on defense, noting that no decision has been made yet regarding defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.

"It's huge obviously to have the support of the owner moving forward. Got a lot of respect Irsay and what he stands for and the person he is."

Steichen addressed concerns about the team's culture, stating that it's about winning, but also emphasizing the importance of accountability and good character among players.

"Culture is to me about winning and we didn't win enough this year. But we got the right guys... We talked about accountability. I'm a firm believer in accountability. As rare as things come up, they are addressed immediately. I don't let those things slide under the rug."

Steichen concluded by vowing to be relentless in his pursuit of getting the team back on track.

"I can promise you this, I'm going to be relentless in my pursuit to get this thing going in the right direction moving forward."
