Indianapolis Star Names Braylon Mullins Indiana's Top High School Basketball Player

Greenfield-Central's Braylon Mullins has been named the 2025 Indiana Mr. Basketball, averaging 32.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this past season.

Coach Luke Meredith described Mullins as "a guy who can do everything - score at all three levels, shoot it, handle it, pass it... He's a very humble young man, a great teammate."

Mullins' father and assistant coach Josh Mullins added, "The kid's done things that we didn't think were possible. He's exceeded every expectation that we've put on him. He doesn't say a whole lot, and I think that's what drives people crazy sometimes."

Mullins also played in the McDonald's All-American Game.

"It's a special occasion whenever you get to hear your name at the top of the top," Mullins said about being a McDonald's All-American. "So watching that on national TV because it was playing live, it was a big moment for the community. I mean, I'm representing the little few people that are still attending a high school for that game. So, it's definitely a special honor."

Mullins led Greenfield-Central to a 23-4 record and a Hoosier Heritage Conference title in the 2024-25 season, but was eliminated by Mt. Vernon in the sectional championship in double overtime.

He is set to continue his career at UConn and has been recognized as the Gatorade Indiana Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

Mullins received 182 votes out of a total of 344 for the honor, making him the first player from Greenfield-Central to be named Indiana Mr. Basketball.
