Indy Hosts Six-Week Boxing Extravaganza with Indiana Golden Gloves

The best boxers in Indiana will face off in Indianapolis as the Indiana Golden Gloves tournament returns to the Circle City.

This six-week amateur boxing extravaganza offers athletes the chance to qualify for the Golden Gloves of America National Championship. As quoted by [unknown], "Golden Gloves is more than just a boxing tournament - it's an opportunity to learn, grow, and make lifelong connections."

The first punch will be thrown on Thursday at 7 p.m. inside Tyndall Armory, with the tournament continuing each Thursday through April 24. Tickets are available for purchase, starting at $15.

Founded over 100 years ago in Chicago, Golden Gloves is a nationwide boxing tournament comprising 30 individual franchises across the country. It has now become an Olympic Trials Qualifier for the USA Boxing team.

The Indiana Golden Gloves tournament covers all of the state except areas in Lake and Porter counties (which compete in Chicago) and the Fort Wayne area (which falls under Toledo's territory).

Nationals are set to take place from May 12-17 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
