Marcus Armstrong's Indy 500 Qualifying Bid Ends in Crash

Marcus Armstrong's bid for qualifying at the Indianapolis 500 ended in a crash during practice on the first day of qualifying. The Meyer Shank Racing driver lost control of his car and crashed into the wall in Turn 1.

"He started to lose control, and the back of his car slammed against the wall," said an eyewitness.

Despite the severity of the crash, Armstrong was able to give a thumbs up and wave as he was taken away on a stretcher to the ambulance.

Armstrong was transported to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Emergency Medical Center, where he is reportedly awake and alert.
