Pierre Brooks' Game-Winner Propels Butler to Victory Over Utah
Pierre Brooks made a go-ahead layup in traffic with 3.2 seconds left, propelling Butler to an 86-84 victory over Utah on Monday. The College Basketball Crown match saw Brooks rack up 22 points and add nine rebounds for the Bulldogs (15-19).
Finley Bizjack contributed 16 points, shooting 5 of 11 from the field, including 2 for 7 from 3-point range, and going 4 for 5 from the line. Kolby King added 12 points, shooting 5 for 8 with 2 for 3 from beyond the arc.
The Utes (16-17) were led by Keanu Dawes, who recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds. Gabe Madsen also scored 17 points and grabbed three steals, while Ezra Ausar had 15 points.
Bizjack scored 11 points in the first half, with Butler trailing 46-42 at halftime. Brooks then took over in the second half, leading Butler with 17 points.
