Racing into the US: Italian Motorsport School Sets Up Shop in Indianapolis
The Italian-based Motorsport Technical School (MTS) is expanding its global reach by opening its first U.S. location in Indianapolis. Founded by professional driver and team manager Eugenia Capanna, MTS aims to guide aspiring motorsport professionals towards careers that propel the sport forward.
As a woman-owned and woman-founded institution, MTS will run students through hands-on courses teaching them skills to excel as mechanics, data technicians, and track engineers. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a track day with a Formula 4 car, gaining real-world experience working on a professional team.
“We’re thrilled to bring MTS’s expertise to the United States, and Indianapolis is the perfect location for our first U.S. facility,” Capanna said. “This city has an unmatched passion for motorsport, and a high demand for skilled mechanics and engineers. We have a proven track record of placing our students with teams globally, and are excited to continue this success in the United States.”
MTS boasts an impressive 80% graduation rate, with most alumni working in racing teams – F1, MotoGP, and IndyCar – around the world. Industry professionals teach students both in class and on the track using real racecars.
Courses will begin in May, with a second round of classes starting in August. A mandatory selection process is in place to ensure limited spots are available for both the classes and the selection process.
