Sending Off Heroes: Pacers Depart for Oklahoma City

The Indiana Pacers are heading back to Oklahoma City for Game 7 of the NBA Finals, and as they depart from the Indianapolis International Airport, fans are gathered to give them a proper send-off.

Some dedicated fans have made it their mission to support the team all season long. The "Airport Crew" is a group of enthusiasts who wait at the airport to bid farewell to the Pacers when they leave for away games and welcome them back home after victories.

Ron Craft, one half of the father-son duo behind the Airport Crew, shared his experience with us today.

"We've been out here on Christmas night before when the team's been flying out," said Ron. "Open up Christmas presents, have lunch, whatever, and then drag the family out here to see the guys off."

Ron sees the Airport Crew as a way to connect with the team.

"It's a unique experience that gets you a little bit closer to the team," he said. "And it's awesome to be the last face they see before they go into a hostile environment and the first people they get to celebrate with when they get home."

Game 7 of the NBA Finals tips off at 8 p.m. in Oklahoma City.
