Teri Moren Named Head Coach of USA Basketball

Teri Moren, head coach of Indiana University's women's basketball team, has been named the head coach of the 2025 U19 Women's National Team for USA Basketball. This will be her fourth time coaching for USA Basketball.

"It is an honor to be leading the 2025 USA Basketball Women's U19 National Team along with Coach Ivey and Coach Fernandez," Moren said in a press release. "I am grateful to represent our country on the international stage and look forward to the opportunity to once again pursue a gold medal for our nation."

This will be Moren's second time leading the U19 team, as she led them to a gold medal last year. She has also served as an assistant coach for the FIBA World Cup in 2023 and the Women's Americas Championship.

Moren is no stranger to international competition, having coached at the college level for over a decade. As head coach of the Hoosiers, she has led them to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including three Sweet Sixteens and one trip to the Elite Eight in 2021. Under her guidance, the Hoosiers have had 10 consecutive 20-win seasons.

She will be joined on the bench by Notre Dame's head women's basketball coach Niele Ivey and South Florida's Jose Fernandez, who will serve as assistants for the team.

The U19 team will compete in the FIBA Women's World Cup from July 12-20, with all games taking place in Brno, Czech Republic.
