Bison Farm in Indiana Rises to Iconic Status Across Five Generations
For five generations, the Engstrand family has been raising bison on their White Oaks Bison Farm in Indiana. This iconic farm is now expanding its operations, adding new grazing pastures and growing its herd.
"We're really excited to share this process with the public," says Terry Engstrand. "It's a unique opportunity for people to see how we build our grazing pastures and manage our herd."
This year, the farm will begin offering grass-fed and finished bison beef for direct orders. As the weather warms up, they're also preparing for a busy season of tours, which have become increasingly popular. Last year alone, they hosted 107 private tours, attracting visitors from across the U.S. and internationally – including France, Japan, South Africa, and Canada.
In a new venture, White Oaks Bison Farm has partnered with Harvest Host, an RV camping platform, allowing guests to stay overnight at the farm in their RVs or campers.
Along with educational tours, the farm offers a range of grass-fed bison products, including meat, hides, and skulls. With locations across Indiana, White Oaks Bison Farm is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in sustainable agriculture and the iconic American bison.
