Loud, Bold, Unforgettable: Downtown Muncie's New Vibe
Downtown Muncie has launched a new campaign to encourage visitors and locals alike to explore the area, highlighting its vibrant atmosphere, walkability, and numerous attractions.
"Just to remind people how much is going on here. The whole idea that you don't have to go far to have an exceptional experience," Cheryl Crowder with Muncie Downtown Development Partnership said.
The campaign emphasizes the importance of starting at the heart of downtown, which offers over 500 parking spaces and is easily accessible by foot or bike.
Vera Mae's Bistro House Manager Dawn Brand Fluhler notes that the city becomes more vibrant as warmer months approach. "During the summertime, people are on the sidewalk. The sidewalk tables come out, people are al fresco, excited. It just gets really busy and the vibe is very energetic," she said.
Guardian Brewing Company's Quentin Rogers agrees, citing First Thursday events as a busy time for downtown. "Just a lot of people coming to downtown for the deals," he said.
Downtown Muncie hosts flagship events like Spring and Fall ArtsWalks, Fire Up DWNTWN, Brewfest, and more, attracting over 200,000 visitors last year alone, with 50,000 attending specifically for events.
Crowder aims to make every event bigger and more exciting. "Just a new twist to things we've done in the past," she said.
The Brink of Summer ArtsWalk is set to kick off Muncie's event season on Thursday, June 5.
