INDIANAPOLIS — A chilly Saturday morning sets the stage for a wet evening across central Indiana. While the day remains dry, expect rain to sweep in as night falls.

TODAY: The sky will be mostly cloudy with easterly winds ranging from 5 to 10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. High temperatures are predicted to reach the mid-40s.

TONIGHT: Prepare for a soggy night with soaking rain expected. Some areas in southern Indiana might even experience isolated rumbles of thunder, though severe weather is not anticipated. Low temperatures will hover around 40 degrees.

TOMORROW: Morning scattered showers will give way to cloudy skies in the afternoon, with high temperatures reaching the upper 40s.

7-DAY FORECAST: Central Indiana should brace for another wave of heavier rain on Monday, with total rainfall from Saturday through Monday projected between 1-2 inches. Temperatures on Monday are expected to hit the mid-40s before returning to near-average levels on Tuesday and Wednesday. Cooler air will arrive as we head toward the end of the week.
