100 Black Men Inspires Youth Through Mentoring Program

For 40 years, 100 Black Men of Indianapolis has been making a positive impact in the community through their mentoring program. The organization was founded to address issues facing the Black community and is dedicated to youth development.

"What they see is what they'll be," said Craig Kitchen, Executive Director of 100 Black Men.

The organization offers various programs, including an African-American history program, a Botillion leadership program for high school male seniors, and financial literacy programs. They also collaborate with Indianapolis Public Schools and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. Most of the programs are coed, with only the Botillion and team mentoring programs being male-only.

The organization believes in exposing young women to positive male role models as well. An upcoming event in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association will be held April 21 at Purpose of Life Ministries, focusing on the role of Black males as caregivers.
