Coach Fired Amid Allegations of Sex with Student at Ben Davis High School
A former assistant track coach at Ben Davis High School has been arrested and faces five charges of child seduction after allegations surfaced that he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.
Harrison Goss, 26, was charged with five counts of child seduction, including one count of engaging in sexual intercourse with the student. He is currently being held without bond pending an initial court hearing on Wednesday.
"The girl had already told him previously that she did not want to have a sexual relationship with him. She believes this happened before she had sex with him in his vehicle."
The allegations against Goss were made after the 16-year-old student reported finding text messages and photos of herself on her phone from the coach. The student told investigators that all of the incidents with Goss occurred after track practice or meets, including one instance where they had sex in the parking lot of an elementary school.
A detective wrote in court documents that the girl had initially told Goss she did not want to have a sexual relationship with him before he continued to pursue her. The investigation was prompted by a 15-year-old student who discovered the text messages and reported them to school officials.
Goss was fired from his position at Ben Davis High School, according to the chief communication officer for the Wayne Township Schools. The district declined to provide further comment on the "active legal matter."
