IMPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Overdose from 2022

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's Overdose Task Force has made an arrest in connection with a fatal overdose that occurred in 2022. Nikolai Alfimow, 41, was arrested for the reckless homicide of 38-year-old Joseph Handlon.

According to IMPD, Handlon died at the scene in the 3700 block of East Market Street after being found by medics with a fatal acute drug overdose.

"After a lengthy and thorough investigation, ODTF detectives determined Alfimow was involved in supplying the deadly drug(s) to Mr. Handlon."

Alfimow was taken into custody during a traffic stop on March 27 for an active warrant and possession of marijuana and cocaine.
