Mother's Day Forecast: Warm Start with Rain Chances to Follow

This Mother's Day weekend in central Indiana promises a warm start, but rain chances are on the horizon. While we're not expecting complete washouts, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop throughout the week.

Mother's Day today will be mostly sunny with high temperatures near 80 degrees, making it a beautiful day for celebrations.

Tonight, clouds will increase in the early morning hours, bringing mostly cloudy skies. Low temperatures around 60 degrees are expected.

Tomorrow, the area will remain dry in the morning with mostly cloudy skies. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop from the south in the afternoon and evening hours, but severe weather is not anticipated. High temperatures will reach the mid-70s.

The 7-day forecast indicates daily rain chances are expected this week, with a focus on the afternoon and evening hours during peak heating of the day. While most computer models predict under 1" of rain, isolated higher amounts can occur in thunderstorms. Thursday is currently at risk for severe weather, but we close out the week with multiple days reaching temperatures in the 80s.
