Raccoon-Induced Power Outage Delays Schools in Boone County
A busy Boone County school district is on a 2-hour delay Monday due to a power outage caused by a mischievous raccoon. Zionsville Community Schools pushed back the start of classes because the outage affected “some” of its buildings.According to Boone County REMC, a raccoon did “quite a bit of damage” to a power substation, leaving over 3,000 customers without electricity. Power was restored to almost all customers by 7:30 a.m., according to an online outage map.
