Snowy Afternoon, Chilly Night Ahead
Snow is ongoing in central Indiana this morning, with light snow showers expected to exit before a frigid Tuesday night. Today, these light snow showers will mid-morning and late afternoon, followed by decreasing clouds and partly cloudy skies.
Today's forecast: "Only a dusting up to 1" is forecasted from this snow chance north of I-70, not much south of I-70." High temperatures are expected to be near 20 degrees.
Tonight will bring our coldest temperatures of the season to date, with clear skies allowing lows to plummet near zero and subzero in central Indiana. Wind chill values will dip as low as -5 to -15.
Tomorrow will bring plenty of sunshine, but don't let it fool you - it will be a cold start, with high temperatures expected to be near 20 degrees.
In the 7-day forecast, a more potent system is developing for Friday night into the weekend. While central Indiana may initially see rain, there's potential for some snow or light flurries on the backside late Saturday or Sunday. At this point, it's too early to say if we'll see any accumulations.
Next week, arctic air is expected to rush in, potentially bringing even colder temperatures than what we're seeing this week.
