Southern Indiana Under Snow Warnings as Central and Northern Regions Receive Advisories

Southern Indiana is under winter storm warnings as central and northern regions receive advisories. The National Weather Service expects varying snowfall totals across the state.

Parts of south central and east central Indiana

A winter storm warning was issued for counties in southern Indiana, including Clark, Dubois, Floyd Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, and Washington, as well as parts of Kentucky. The weather service predicted 2-4 more inches of snow, with total accumulations expected to be 3-5 inches.

Southwest Indiana

A winter storm warning was also issued for southwest Indiana, including Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Warrick, and Vanderburgh counties, as well as parts of Illinois, Missouri, and Kentucky. The weather service predicted 1-3 more inches of snow, with total accumulations expected to be 4-7 inches.

Central Indiana

A winter weather advisory was issued for the Indianapolis area, including Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hendricks, Hancock, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Martin, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Shelby, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo, and Warren counties. Snow accumulations were expected to total 2-4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible across the southeast half of central Indiana.

East central Indiana

A winter weather advisory was issued for east central Indiana, including Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union, and Wayne counties, as well as parts of Ohio and Kentucky. Snow accumulations were expected to total 2-4 inches.

Northern Indiana

A winter weather advisory was issued for northern Indiana, including Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Lagrange, La Porte, Marshall, Miami, Noble, St. Joseph, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley counties, as well as parts of Michigan and Ohio. Show accumulations were expected to total 2-4 inches.

Northwest Indiana

The weather service predicted accumulating snow in northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, including Lake, Jasper, Newton, and Porter counties. Snowfall totals were expected to be in the 1-3 inch range, especially for areas along and southeast of I-55.
