Supreme Court Upholds Trump's Power to Deport Migrants

The Supreme Court has upheld President Trump's power to deport migrants, allowing swift removals of individuals from countries other than their homelands. This decision comes after a court order was lifted, requiring the migrants to have a chance to challenge their deportations.

The high court's action followed a May incident in which eight people were put on a plane to South Sudan. The migrants, who had been convicted of serious crimes in the U.S., were unable to return to their home countries and were instead taken to a U.S. naval base in Djibouti.

"The court's decision is a significant step backward for our nation's commitment to due process and fairness," said Judge Brian E. Murphy, who had issued the original order.
