Teacher Accused of Sexual Misconduct with Minor Student
A 23-year-old teacher, Torrie Lemon, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student while teaching at Colonial Christian School in Indianapolis. Lemon is charged with two felony counts of child seduction as a child care worker.According to court papers, the investigation began on April 10 when a school employee reported a sexual relationship between Lemon and the student during a school trip to South Carolina. The staffer said they learned about the relationship while on the trip and notified police in Greenville, South Carolina, who brought both Lemon and the student in for interviews. In their police interviews, both Lemon and the student admitted to being in a relationship. The student told the interviewer that she had messages from Lemon and a video of them kissing saved on her phone. During her interview, Lemon described the relationship as "inappropriate" and said it had been going on for "about two months."The probable cause affidavit states that the relationship started out as friends, but eventually turned into more physical affection, including hugs and holding each other longer. A kiss on the cheek eventually turned into a romantic kiss. The student told investigators that she never intended their relationship to be sexual and wanted it to just be a friendship because she knew it was wrong. She said the relationship kept developing until they had sex at her home in Fishers and also at Lemon's apartment on school grounds.Colonial Christian School Principal Andrew Fry confirmed that Lemon was placed on leave before employment was terminated. "We are committed to the safety and well-being of every student, and we are cooperating fully with the authorities," Fry said.It is unclear whether Lemon is currently in custody, as online court records do not show an active warrant.
