Teenagers Suffer Fatal and Critical Injuries Following Shooting on City's Northeast Side
One teenager is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting on Indianapolis' northeast side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred around 7:10 p.m. Sunday at an Exxon Mobil Silver Express Foodmart convenience store and gas station.
IMPD officers responded to a report of a person shot and found two teenage males with gunshot wound injuries. Both teens were taken to area hospitals in critical condition.
A little over an hour later, IMPD announced that one of the teens had been pronounced dead at an area hospital. The 17-year-old victim was identified as Tywon Jones by the Marion County Coroner's Office. His death was ruled a homicide.
