Teen's Death Under Investigation: IMPD Homicide Probe Launched

Police are investigating the death of a teenage girl who was shot and killed on the south side of Indianapolis Saturday morning. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a death investigation just after 11 a.m. at the 1400 block of Salisbury Lane, in an apartment complex near East Troy and Carson avenues.

Upon arrival, officers found a female teen with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death, and then release the girl's name once a next-of-kin notification has been made.
