Tragedy Strikes: Farm Tractor Collision Kills 4-Year-Old Boy and Woman in Jackson County
A tragedy struck in Jackson County when a 4-year-old boy and a woman were killed after being hit by a farm tractor on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred around 7:40pm in Redding Township, just north of Seymour. According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, first responders were dispatched to the scene after learning that a 68-year-old woman and the young boy had been struck by the tractor.
The child was rushed to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour where medical staff pronounced him dead. The older woman was airlifted to a hospital in Louisville but succumbed to her injuries early Wednesday morning.
Details of what led up to the accident remain unclear, and the victims have not been publicly identified by investigators.
