Warmer Weekend Ahead, Bitter Blast Expected Next Week
A warmer weekend is ahead, but a bitter blast of cold air is expected to hit next week.
TODAY: Expect scattered flurries, especially in the morning, with mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. Temperatures will climb into the upper 20s, and there's a slight chance of slick spots on side streets and neighborhoods.
TONIGHT: Temperatures will fall to the upper teens and lower 20s, with mainly cloudy skies overnight.
TOMORROW: It'll be slightly warmer on Sunday, with readings around freezing. A weak system will bring more cloud cover and a slight chance of snow showers, but little to no accumulation is expected.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: The weather pattern will remain quiet but incredibly cold over the next several days. Monday will see some sunshine, followed by temperatures in the upper 20s for highs.
"We could see sub-zero readings across much of Central Indiana early Wednesday morning."
A bitter blast of cold air is expected to move across parts of the state on Tuesday and Wednesday, with high temperatures in the teens. Nighttime lows will fall into the single digits, making for a very chilly couple of days.
Thursday and Friday are expected to bring slightly warmer temperatures, reaching into the 30s, but it doesn't look like any major storm systems are on the horizon. We'll see some sunshine at times, but bitterly cold temperatures will still prevail.
