Trump Demands Domestic iPhone Production, Threatens 25% Tariff on Apple Products

President Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 25% tariff on Apple products unless iPhones are manufactured in the United States. The threat was delivered over social media and could significantly increase the price of iPhones, potentially harming sales and profits for one of America's leading technology companies.

"I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhone's that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else," Trump posted on social media. "If that is not the case, a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the U.S."

Apple had been considering shifting iPhone manufacturing to India as it adjusts supply chains, a plan that has become a source of frustration for Trump. This is not the first time Trump has brought up his concerns about Apple's manufacturing plans; he also mentioned it during his recent Middle East trip.
