Join the Ride: John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Arrives at University of Indianapolis
Nearly 45 years after John Lennon's death, his musical legacy continues to inspire and educate through the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, which stopped at the University of Indianapolis this week.
"It's a way for students to see all the stuff that goes behind the scenes in media production and especially music," said Dr. Brett Leonard, Music Technology professor at UIndy. "We want to show them what it takes to produce high-quality audio and video." He invited everyone to visit the bus on campus.
The bus offers a unique opportunity for students to explore the music industry and learn from professionals in the field. Emerson Graft, a UIndy student majoring in Music Industry, was excited to experience the bus's state-of-the-art recording equipment. "I'd love to get into a studio someday, work with some great musicians, and get some people's music out there," he said.
Graft believes that John Lennon's legacy is essential for all generations: "The Beatles is like, the foundation of what music is today, in my opinion. So I think it's pretty important to know who that is."
The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus will be parked outside the Schwitzer Student Center and UIndy from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 7. Everyone is welcome to visit and explore the bus.
"We would love to see anybody who's never had a chance to check out a really high-end recording studio, anybody who's maybe interested in that – either as a hobby or as a profession – whether they're students or professionals," Leonard said. "Anybody's welcome!"
