Coldplay Concert Embrace Lands CEO on Leave
Astronomer, a tech company, has placed its CEO Andy Byron on leave and launched a formal investigation after a video emerged of him intimately hugging the company's head of human relations at a Coldplay concert.
"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,"
The video, taken during Coldplay's performance of "Jumbotron Song" at Gillette Stadium in Boston on Wednesday, shows Byron embracing Kristin Cabot as a camera panned around the audience.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked about the moment, saying, "Whoa, look at these two. Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy."
The incident has gone viral on social media, with many noting that Byron is married. Astronomer also denied reports that another colleague was standing next to the couple.
Astronomer Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete Dejoy will serve as interim CEO until further notice.
"We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days,"
