Fever-Lynx Halftime Show Marred by Unicyclist's Injury to Red Panda
The halftime show featuring Red Panda was marred by an unfortunate incident when she fell off her unicycle and crashed to the court during intermission of the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night.
Red Panda, whose name is Rong Niu, appeared to be grabbing at her left wrist after the fall, before being helped off the floor by wheelchair. The extent of her injuries was not immediately disclosed.
As a Chinese American woman from a family of performing acrobats, Red Panda's act is known for her custom-built unicycle that stretches about 8 feet above the court and her balancing skills with custom-made bowls on her lower leg before flipping them atop her head.
This wasn't the first time Red Panda has performed at a high-profile basketball game - she also appeared at Game 5 of the NBA Finals last month in Oklahoma City.
