Life Behind the Scenes with Diddy's Assistant: Demanding Work Conditions Revealed
David James, a former personal assistant for Sean "Diddy" Combs, revealed the demanding work environment he experienced while working with the music mogul. During his testimony in Combs's ongoing federal criminal trial on Tuesday, James shared that one of his other assistants was hospitalized for dehydration after working 24 hours straight without a break.
James worked as an assistant to Combs from 2007 to 2009 and testified about the responsibilities he had during that time. His job included ensuring Combs's breakfast met his standards, procuring illicit drugs, and setting up hotel rooms for Combs's arrival. This would involve organizing his clothing, toiletries, medications, and personal items.
According to James, Combs's security would reimburse him for the items with cash. He also mentioned that Combs's favorite hotel in New York City was the Trump International.
During his testimony on Monday, James said he didn't have much interaction with Cassie Ventura Fine, Combs's longtime girlfriend and one of his accusers who claimed Combs was abusive to her over their decade-long relationship. James testified that he was with Combs when a business associate asked about Cassie and Kim Porter, Combs's late ex-partner and mother to some of his children.
James described Porter as Combs's "queen" but referred to Cassie as "young" and "moldable."
