WNBA Stars Shine Bright on the Orange Carpet
The WNBA All-Stars traded in their sneakers for stilettos as they strutted down the orange carpet on Thursday, bringing a touch of glamour to the WNBA All-Star weekend in Indianapolis.
Fashionistas like Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum and Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston showed off their best outfits, with Plum wearing a shiny long-sleeved red dress and heels, and Boston donning a long, dark gown and heels.
“This was definitely a lot of fun,” said Plum. “I think it just kind of gets the fans a little bit more excited about seeing all the outfits.”
Boston agreed: “I think it just kind of gets the fans a little bit more excited about seeing all the outfits.”
WNBA players have been stepping up their style game in recent seasons, garnering attention off the court for their pregame fashion choices. Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky wowed the crowd in a leopard print coat and stylish sunglasses.
“I missed this last year because of flight issues, but was so glad to be here this year for it,” Reese said.
A’ja Wilson, reigning league MVP of the Las Vegas Aces, wore a stunning Di Petsa-designed maroon sleeveless gown that exposed her left leg from the hip and sported gold Saint Laurent earrings. The New York Liberty's Natasha Cloud opted for pants and shirt, admitting she was initially intimidated by the orange carpet.
“It took me out of my comfort zone,” she said.
Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx loved the chance to walk across the stage, but as a mom of a young daughter, wished she had known there would be kids in the audience beforehand, as she might have chosen a different outfit.
