Bacon Bonanza: Indiana Bacon Festival Makes a Sizzling Return
The Indiana Bacon Festival is back for its 12th year in downtown Delphi, celebrating the state's rich pork production heritage with food, music, and community events. The festival, organized by the local chamber of commerce, highlights Indiana's status as a leading pork producer.
"We do give back to the community, and in the last 11 years, we've given over a quarter of a million dollars back to local nonprofits," said Madison Kauffman, who has been involved with the festival for four years. In addition to bacon-themed offerings from 19 food vendors, attendees can enjoy live music performances by SOS of Sweden and Majesty, a tribute to Queen.
A beer garden, kid zone with inflatables and face painting, and carnival games will also be available. One of the highlights is the bacon-eating contest, where participants compete to eat 25 pieces of bacon the fastest, with the winner receiving free bacon for a year from Indiana Kitchen Bacon.
