Chelsea Murdock Named 500 Festival Queen Scholar

Chelsea Murdock, from Fishers, has been crowned the 2025 500 Festival Queen Scholar for her outstanding achievements and community involvement. As Queen Scholar, Murdock will represent the rest of her princess class and play a significant role in the 109th Indianapolis 500 celebrations.

"I am truly honored to be selected as the 500 Festival Queen Scholar," said Murdock. "This is an incredible opportunity for me to represent the 500 Festival and Victory Circle, and I look forward to being involved in the festivities."
Murdock's impressive resume includes her time at Ball State University, where she served as president of the Student Government Association, a Risk Prevention Chair for the Black Student Association, and a Leadership Ambassador for other students. She is currently studying Secondary English Education as a sophomore.In addition to her academic achievements, Murdock has gained international experience by studying abroad with the Fulbright Commission as part of the United Kingdom Summer Institute, where she was the only student selected from Indiana.Murdock's volunteer work includes assisting with pre-collegiate and career development at the Boys and Girls Club of Muncie. As Queen Scholar, she will receive a $1,500 educational scholarship and the honor of representing the 500 Festival and Victory Circle at the Indianapolis 500.
