Franklin Firecracker Festival Hosts 'WISH You Were Here'

Franklin's annual Firecracker Festival hosted "WISH You Were Here," a summer series by WISH-TV's "Focus on Family." The show took to the streets of downtown Franklin, broadcasting live just ahead of the festival.

Co-hosts Faran Fronczak and Phil Sanchez welcomed viewers with sunny skies, a lively crowd, and a packed schedule of interviews celebrating the community. With fireworks planned for the evening and families filling the lawn, the event showcased Franklin's small-town charm and revitalized downtown.

The day highlighted both the city's rich history and its future. From yard games and local bands to conversations with city leaders and community groups, the event celebrated all that makes Franklin special.

Parks and Rec Leader Highlights Franklin's Growth and Firecracker Festival Tradition
Holly Johnston from Franklin Parks and Recreation joined the show to talk about the evening's festivities and the city's deep-rooted Fourth of July traditions. She said, "The Firecracker Festival has become a beloved annual event, drawing thousands to the park for music, games, food, and a 25-minute fireworks show."

Johnston also reflected on the city's transformation following the devastating floods 15 years ago, crediting local leaders for investing in Franklin's future and creating the vibrant community space residents enjoy today.
