Free Legal Services Available at Indy Public Library
A pair of nonprofits, Indiana Legal Services and the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, are offering free legal services for low-income individuals at the Central Library of the Indianapolis Public Library (IPL). The organizations will have staff on-site at the library's downtown location on July 29 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a legal clinic.
Criminal record expungement, eviction sealing, and tax consultations will be available for free on a first-come, first-served basis near the Riley Room. No appointment is required.
The tax consultations are open to all, regardless of income. Staff will not be preparing tax returns.
“The Library is truly a community hub where people can find support, guidance, and real solutions to life’s challenges,” said Gregory Hill, CEO of the Indianapolis Public Library.
