Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested Following String of Incidents

A man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft and robbery after a string of incidents, including an armed robbery where he stole food from a Domino's delivery driver.

Laurens Jean Francois, 22, is in custody following the investigation into a series of robberies that began mid-July. The first incident occurred on July 19 when a Domino's driver was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to deliver food on Whitehaven Road.

Three days later, an armed suspect stole nearly $2,000 from a business on North High School Road before fleeing on foot. IMPD investigators reviewed security footage and used other techniques to identify Francois as a suspect.

A traffic stop led police to pull over Francois, where they found a firearm in plain sight. A subsequent search of his home uncovered an AR 15 pistol, ammunition, a ski mask, and a black Domino's Pizza delivery bag.

Francois is being held at the Marion County jail without bond and was scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Friday morning.
